Falls, sports injuries and accidents are a normal part of childhood – and teeth are often in the firing line. A chipped, displaced or knocked-out tooth is distressing for both child and parents, but prompt treatment makes a real difference to how well the tooth can be saved and how it heals.
We provide prompt care for dental injuries: assessing the damage, relieving pain, repositioning or splinting displaced teeth, restoring broken teeth and, where possible, re-implanting knocked-out permanent teeth. We also monitor injured teeth over time, as some effects of trauma appear weeks or months later.
Children and teenagers who have injured their teeth, lips or gums in a fall, sports activity or accident. If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, contact us immediately – time matters greatly for saving the tooth.
